Vanilla French Toast
My Favorite brunch item. Crispy on the outside and warm and soft inside. Loaded with fresh berries and drizzled with hot maple syrup, what else could a carb addict wish for!
How to Make it:
2 whole large eggs
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup of whole milk
1/4 cup of vanilla coffee creamer (any brand but NOT sugar free or diet)
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp of melted butter
6 thick slices of Brioche or White country bread (Stale works best)
Powdered sugar (optional)
Fresh Berries (optional)
Maple Syrup (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees and have a wired sheet pan ready
Mix eggs, yolk, sugar, milk, creamer, cinnamon and vanilla together in a large enough bowl to soak sliced bread
Dip bread slices in mixture and allow to soak through. It's supposed to be crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle
In a large non stick pan, melt butter and brown both sides of bread then place of the wire rack to finish in the oven
Place all the bread slices in the oven at the same time to allow for even cooking
Bake for 5-10 minutes and serve with powdered sugar, berries and warm maple syrup
